The Sacred Center Within

There is no magic pill for truth. There is no journey back to youth.

There is no one to save your soul. There is no trick to make you whole.

The way to peace is not through him. It’s not through her, it’s not through them.

The Love you seek is not in a house, it’s not in money, a church or a spouse.

The calling you feel isn’t to roam until you find your earthly home.

The undeniable urge inside, isn’t meant to be run from, you’re not meant to hide.

They told you things that made you cry, they said the voice in your heart was a lie.

They said you were broken and need to be fixed, they said intuition and faith can’t be mixed.

The confusion it grew and it swallowed your truth,

the sensations of pain became all that you knew.

The calling was there but the sky was too dark,

the thoughts were too big and the teeth were too sharp.

You lay in your bed and beg for relief, something to end all the deep, swelling grief.

You look for the door, the window, the key. You desperately search for the way to be free.

The paths you have traveled, the years you have tried,

the ways you’ve unraveled, the tears you have cried

They haven’t been pointless, the search is not done,

the quest is not over, and you ARE the one.

So where are the answers? Where is the balm?

Where is the place they are hiding the calm? It was never out there.

It was never withheld. It was never destroyed or abused or unwell.

It lives in a place they could never break in, in a place so pure there can be no sin.

The Love that you seek from the moment you’re born,

the Love that you seek when you’re old and more worn,

The Love you were told had to be earned,

led you through lessons that had to be learned.

It was never in them, though they may have been guides,

they led you to pain and that led you inside.

Finally, you have arrived in the place, the place that feels quiet and wait, is that grace?

The Love that’s been calling you, gently, persistently,

doesn’t feed ego, it doesn’t move swiftly. It whispers, it gives, never dies, always lives.

It believes in your worthiness, knowing it Is.

Where is this beautiful place you can thrive?

The Sacred Center within, you’ve arrived.
